Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statue

Daily Success February 10 – Outstanding. Yes, I went back to the treadmill for an additional 40 calories or so to get to Outstanding. That was hard because my lower back problems made it painful to get that far. It was necessary because we were having pasta for dinner, and I wanted red wine to go with it. That made a few points from the booze column very unlikely.

Yesterday

Yesterday was mostly quiet on the Sam front. Some emails with Allen, but nothing from them in response to my line in the sand. We shall see.

The lack of Sam activities allowed plenty of time for the other things: Dr. Friedman, Monika, and Cliff’s kaffeeklatsch.

Friedman is a cardiologist, beginning to end. He has no sympathy for the rest of the body but was willing to test two areas: cutting the Coreg in half and stopping the statin for a week to see if I feel better. The new regimen began last evening.

Monika stuck to the laser for the knee and piriformis, no massage, and nothing close to Dr. Sheikh’s injection sites. She endorsed a hot jacuzzi combined with aiming the jet right at the piriformis, so I did that again last night.

I also had time for the UMGC Poly-Sci class preparation and for Spanish. That was a little discouraging as the Poly-Sci may be more challenging than expected, not a big deal in and of itself, but with a week in Texas coming up I may not be able to get far enough ahead to maintain the grade I want for the accelerated term. The next week will tell that tale.

Most of my exercise was on the bike, but I also got in full sets of PT for my upper body and core strength training.

Today

No Sam activity this (Saturday) morning and no doctors! Thus, lots of time for exercise and UMGC. We will see how far ahead I am on UMGC at COB today. That will be a biggie.

The Future

Tomorrow will be a challenging day for any accomplishments. The day begins with our pancakes and bacon ritual for Sunday morning. The day ends with us going to Bill and Paula’s house for the Super Bowl and dinner. In between times, I must make my deviled eggs and my brussels sprouts to take to Bill and Paula’s. Neither is hard, but both take time, especially the deviled eggs.

I’m expecting an outstanding day, however.

Beyond tomorrow there is, again, a lot of mist. How will stopping the statin affect my pain level? Will the jacuzzi help with my piriformis?

I am hopeful.
