Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statue

Daily Success February 15 – Very Good. Just over the line to Outstanding and on the right side of it, but I didn’t feel I deserved it. Whisky was clearly a zero (and should have generated penalty points if they were available) and the Internet Monster was having way too much success as I worked on Poli-Sci and Spanish.

All those caveats made, my score would have been higher by a point or two had something not happened with my right shoulder as I started to lift the 30-pound weights to do some presses. There was a LOUD crunching sound. It didn’t exactly hurt, the shoulder isn’t exactly sore, but it is not happy.

Yesterday

Yesterday had a lot of progress on Poli-Sci, I got my first discussion submission turned in, and a decent Spanish session. The Rosetta Stone material is making tons more sense so many years later because of the studies with UMGC and Wondrium. While I’m not facile with the verbs and their seemingly infinite conjugations, they make sense and I’m now able to practice them much more effectively.

Some disquieting things on the Sam front. Nothing more than straws in the wind at this point, but he appears to be moving forward on both SurveyorBot (Interim Report delivery) and SAGEbot (contract negotiations). This could be because he has decided to accept the deal on the table, or at least get close, and he’s confident. It could also be because he has decided to simply ignore my demands and move forward.

Today

Poli-Sci, Spanish, exercise. Waiting to hear from Sam.

The Future

Major decisions, some as early as today, will shape the future from a little to a lot. I’m #1 on the waitlist for hospitalero training with 20 people signed up (I asked for some guidance and got it). I must decide on airline travel, with special attention to before the Gathering (hospitalero training) and after it (visits with various folks in San Antonio).

My “lean” is to go early and stay late to max out the value of the airline tickets. That, however, comes with costs that include car rental costs and Airbnb fees. Possibly more importantly, however, is that my Poli-Sci course will still be going and being away from a full set of displays will be a major handicap.

Decision making in the face of uncertainty. Fun.
