Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statue

Daily Success September 26 – Failed. Twice in a row.

Daily Success Yesterday

Daily success yesterday was dominated by interruptions. Some good ones, important Project Pinecone emails and responses with Paul and Randy. Paul is already on board; Randy is offering and, if we can work it out so that he does what he indicates he wants to do, it would fill a huge need. Those took time.

Then there was health stuff. A long virtual meeting with Kristin at Dr. Sheikh’s office. More information, including the fact that I’m at the limit for the steroid they use to calm my sciatica and SI joint pain at this point. No more for some significant period. She sounded like that is the rest of this calendar year.

More reason, if more is needed, for the SI Joint surgery Dr. Levine feels may be the answer.

Then there was the fiasco with the Xray and MRI imaging Dr. Levine wanted. I waited a long time to get an appointment with the outfit he prefers so that both images would be done at the same time. When I got there, they said “to bad, so sad, the MRI machine is down.” Fortunately, I was able to get in later this afternoon with Progressive Radiology in a very different location. The images are done, but what was hoped to be a lost hour turned into several lost hours.

Both Camino activities and Project Pinecone ended up without the attention needed.

The one Camino thing I did was to email Priscilla asking to serve at San Martín for the first fortnight of April 2025. I hope, and believe, she will approve that.

Success Today

Success today has Dr. Kelly’s farewell and Nabila’s mail – my weekly good deed through The Village – as known, but not apparently insuperable, obstacles. With the pain in abeyance, Nabila’s mail is part of success because of the walking distance involved.

No answer from Priscilla as of mid-morning.

Getting the work done that is needed will require better focus than has been possible lately.

Success in the Future

Success in the future will be driven by just a few things: my health, which is good so far; getting Project Pinecone rolling over the next three months and making real progress on it over the next year; and keeping the necessary focus day after day.
