statue of a perigrinoDaily Success March 1 shows yesterday as “kinda good” based exclusively on mileage, which is one of my most important indicators. Other exercise was nonexistent and progress on my Camino website, even a “Daily Success” post, was missing as well.

The causes were simple: customer demands for my time took almost all day; and a mild cold had me feeling a lot less than powerful. Add to that Internet problems at one of the customer’s site, “we will be so secure that nothing gets done,” and the perfect storm of poor production on the things that I am working to emphasize was the result.

So. I must, emphasis “must,” take action to limit that kind of day. I’ve already told one customer that wasting 2 hours of my time on a Zoom conference that has little relevance to my work, and for which I’m not getting paid, just isn’t going to continue. The other customer’s task was supposed to finish yesterday, the end of the month, but it has been extended into today. That should, emphasis “should,” mean that it will be over sometime today, assuming that I can produce the requested material. It’s not clear that I can, but the Internet connection to the customer’s network failed when I attempted a log on a few minutes ago. This post is being done while I wait for the VPN to become happy with itself once again as the history of the last week or so has shown that a cycle of waiting a few minutes sometimes works, restarting the computer sometimes works, and simply working around the problem for an extended period of time, hours, is sometimes necessary. Unfortunately, this task now has no workaround for the lack of VPN access to the network as it centers on a search for a document that is hard to find at best and may not exist.
