Daily Success April 10 is pretty good, considering that one of my cousins hosted an Easter feast at her home in Virginia yesterday. We had a grand time with her, her sons, daughter in law, and some of their friends. Unfortunately, other family members were not there, I’m not quite sure why, as the usual concerns about vaccines can’t apply, given the unvaxed status of at least one of the guests.
We behaved ourselves, however …
There are also a lot of personal distractions going on these days. I’ve defined my priorities, but sticking to meeting them is a lot harder than it sounds when defining them. Something about alligators and swamps.
And there is the medical stuff. I’m now three of five pairs of injections (one each knee) from Dr. Higgins and my knees feel significantly better. I’ve gotten serious about the quadricep exercises and that seems to be helping with the “just this spot” stabbing knee pains that the quad exercises are supposed to be good for. All in all, progress there.
I’m scheduled with Dr. Sheikh for a bilateral set of sciatica injections in about two weeks. It’s pretty clear that I’ve waited a bit too long to get this done as the stiffness in my back and the back and leg pain, especially on the left side, are interfering with my exercise, especially with walking. I don’t like the shots. They hurt. I also don’t like needles next to the nerves coming out of my spine. That’s a bit unnerving. But I’ve waited too long and the pain is becoming a problem.
I’m also scheduled with Kentlands Foot and Ankle for laser treatments for my shoulder (this Friday) and ankle (Tuesday of next week).
My exercise level yesterday was good, although all other activity was pretty much zip. Today is not going well. Too many other things that are higher on the priority list. The website, for example, has been pretty much stagnant, but Cris of ngmedia seems to have done the small upgrades we had talked about so now I’ve got more work. Somehow, even good progress seems like an obstacle some days!
