Daily Success May 11 scored a just barely over the line Very Good. Both strength for my upper body and for my legs AND my stretches were skipped because of my right shoulder problem. That began on Tuesday, I think I did something to the shoulder during strength exercises as those were the muscle building ones, and was painful enough to be very worrisome.
On the other hand, the pain did not appear during my exercises. It simply went from nothing to a major “ouch” later when I just raised my right arm for something. A surprise with no apparent cause.
The key to slipping over the line to Very Good was excellent distance, despite my toe injury. Since I don’t get extra credit for the backpack or uneven terrain when they’re involved, I don’t feel guilty accepting the total for the easy kind of walking yesterday included … loose sneakers, even footing, no backpack. Today will be the same as the toe, while much improved, is still ever so slightly sore.
Today’s walk is likely to be over to Dick’s Sporting Goods to look at better hiking shoes. The ones I have are ok, but they seem to have exacerbated the injury after it happened by being too tight at the toes.
Yesterday was expected to provide lots of time for catching up on a wide variety of work, including the SurveyorBot white paper and bookkeeping. It was not to be as I started a “just a quick effort” on the August 4th 2021 story and got sucked so deep into the rabbit holes of memory that it’s amazing I had dinner. That story will now have both the two year interval story and the “getting to Zumaia” tale. Fun! Both are needed if one is to understand my mood in the videos leaving Zumaia that morning.
This video is kind of a prelude. I took it within a hundred meters (or yards) or so of leaving Juan Luis’s Airbnb in Zumaia.
My goal is to do better on all fronts today.
