Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statueDaily Success June 1 is another “just barely” “Outstanding” using the scoring criterion in my spreadsheet.

That typed, ALL the mileage was a decent training hike with about half of it on the Muddy Branch Trail to the east of Lakelands. Some grades, some definitely off-pavement trail conditions, a “more or less Camino weight” backpack. And it was a (relatively) easy effort that ended at Guapo’s for dinner with Bill and Paula. It’s hard to explain how much that “there’s still a lot in the tank” feeling on arriving at Guapo’s reassures me about July.

I can do this.

Today started off with a less than optimal experience: serious cramping in both hamstrings when I got down on a knee to look at my next move on our ongoing Jenga blocks contest. The cramps were sudden, painful, and very serious. Things will be taken carefully today. That includes getting the last scrub on the last bit of porch and then getting the sealer / impregnator brushed on. Kneeling is not my friend.

Ditto for exercises, a training hike as part of Nabila’s mail as part of my volunteer “stuff” for the Village, and whatever else I do. The cramps were NASTY.

On the bright side, I’ve got things mostly pulled together for the My Camino Day August 5 2021 post and I’ve broken through the mental block on the white paper. Tons to do, including picking the Lexus up from being serviced and getting the wall clock back from its visit to the clock shop.

And leaving to pick A up for a full week of college touring the day after tomorrow. TOO MUCH! Must finish this post and hit “publish” quickly.
