Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statueDaily Success June 27 was well into the “Outstanding” range. That was amazing because of a planned combination of work on SurveyorBot, chores, and an appointment for a prophylactic laser treatment on my left ankle before leaving for Spain. All that made it tight from the start.

Then my wife arranged an appointment with our primary care physician to look at what looks like an insect bite on my left side. It is one of two that appeared after my training hike more than a week ago and has lingered. My doctor took a brief look at it and announced that his opinion is that it is probably a tick bite and, based entirely on its appearance, carried a significant Lyme Disease risk.

So that added a trip to get my blood drawn and an additional prescription (a prophylactic antibiotic) for me to be taking for the next month. And just when my gallon bag of pills for the trip seemed stretched to its limit, just like my schedule for the day.

But I managed good distance, and what I did was better than it looked as the quarter of it done on the treadmill was at a 7% grade and most of the outdoor stuff included a backpack that weighs in at a bit over 8 kilograms (about 18 pounds). A good, if not great, workout.

With my schedule already screaming, it looks like I will have added pressure point to get a SurveyorBot white paper done before I leave for Spain. Three pages to convince DARPA that we have a great idea for unexploded ordnance detection so that they will create a Phase I SBIR topic.

July 6th is coming. The excitement is building.
