Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statueDaily Success September 7 requires creating a new category: “Beaten.” I didn’t fail yesterday; my efforts were crushed under one interference after another climaxing with an hour-plus visit to Dr. Sheikh and a four hour visit from Tony to install my brand-new computer. There was some overlap, but the combination of the two was the coup de grâce for a day already filled with customer distractions and customer demands.

I never had a chance.

On Dr. Sheikh, well, the injection is supposed to really take effect in 48 to 72 hours, but I’m already finding benefits, including one “above the waist” one during my daily stretch routine. Something that I’ve been ascribing to old muscles for the last three weeks appears to be tied to that herniated disk. I’ve also concluded that, when there was a sudden and terrible pain while I was on the Camino, the cause was a change in the disk, not a simple breakthrough in Dr. Sheikh’s pain-relieving medicine.

An appointment with the surgeon looks more likely than not.

My Daily Success post for yesterday, “Disappointing,” was cut off in mid-sentence and never got finished, let alone uploaded. Exercises that were begun abandoned in mid-grunt. Last night my sleep was interrupted constantly by the residual over-think of what didn’t get done despite two Wondrim lessons and the full ten minutes of rtve’s noticias on YouTube.

The pressure is on today and I’ve got to succeed both to dig myself out of this personal hole AND to dig myself out of the SurveyorBot hole that has formed around me, heavily due to Sam’s unwillingness to decide or to delegate. Revolution is brewing.
