Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statueDaily Success October 27

Daily Success October 27 managed the second “Very Good” in a row. A big number from the bike made all the difference as there was no exercise support. The last minute “Daily Success” post just made it a solid “Very Good” instead of a barely there “Very Good.”

Important adds, nice phone conversations with my brother on his birthday and with the eldest as he drove across Florida. That said, Jerry seemed very off his conversational game. Much chattier that usual and confused about things he is usually solid on. And the “sticks to anything” first coat on the upstairs porch, FINALLY.

And, of course, there were other errands including getting the car from the shop and Nabila’s mail. I drove to Nabila’s house. The back seems to be moving in the right direction, but … well … walking any distance does not seem like a good idea.

Today

Lots of emails to clean up, time worked info for Natasha, the first color coat upstairs. Plus, exercise and all that. It will be a busy day.

The Future

My thoughts seem to be gravitating to one of the routes in France. The symbolic end to my Journey by arriving in Santiago, not to mention the cancellation of my credentials, seems to have taken the glow off the Finisterre idea. I’m not ready for another end, symbolic or otherwise. The idea of a short hike to Irún has not taken root. The Littorale Route from Bordeaux or nearby sounds ever more interesting. Starting from Arles has real attractions, too, if only because of the Vincent Van Gogh tie-in.

I’m very encouraged that these things are beginning to take hold of my imagination. I need the carrot before me if I’m going to continue to do the exercise that I need in any event.
