Yesterday
Daily Success December 5 is “Outstanding” with Yesterday’s Distance = Not Applicable. It is not a “skin of my teeth” outstanding, either. A solid exercise score combined with the basics had that in hand BEFORE considering my SEO success on the landing page. Seniorpilgrimage.com is now an 80 with only some minor work remaining before I move on.
Monika and I had a heart-to-heart chat yesterday. She was planning it. I was planning it. We made it happen. We officially adjusted the treatment plan in several ways. First, we arranged more frequent appointments, two per week, until after Christmas. Second, she changed the laser and expanded the area where she applies the laser. Third, we put four of my morning stretches on hold. Fourth, I changed one of my morning stretches a little. Fifth, we put four of my Core Exercises on hold.
The idea behind all that is to protect one very localized area of my back from irritation. The changes seem small, but their impact screws up the habits that keep my routines operating smoothly.
Today
Exercise must take a bit of a back seat to “other duties as assigned” today. I must deal with my books. I must fold clothes. My plan is to attend poker this evening, but that may not be possible given all that I must do. It’s also clear that sitting for a few hours without good lumbar support is a horrible idea. My general approach, to just “suck it up” and endure, is a very bad one. I’ve emailed Stan with the question.
The Future
The forecast remains fuzzy. The biggest issue remains my back. The new treatment plan gives me a lot of hope, but “hope” is not a synonym for “success.” Part of that hope is the success Monika produced in my right shoulder. Part is the success of the laser on my left ankle. These are facts. But “Past performance is no guarantee of future results” as the investment types always warn.
So, the warning signs remain posted just where they were. “Back healing not guaranteed!” is an understatement. “Advancing age adds adversity” is a fundamental truth.
Therefore, “If not now, when?” remains my byword. This will not be easier next week, next month, or next year. Father time is relentless.
