Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statue

Daily Success December 29 – Failed. This was far from unexpected as noted yesterday. The Holidays and parties and family in residence are just more than my discipline will handle.

Yesterday

Yesterday was recovery. Some chores, some cleanup, some taking a nap after getting up at 4:40 AM to drive the boys to the airport. Exercise was all but nil. Stretches got skipped entirely.

I did start serious thinking about Ribadiso and began a 400-word essay for La Concha. The essay must be submitted by COB Sunday, so time is limited and the quality is far from satisfactory at the moment.

Today

This post is being done very late in the day. It has been an ok day with a visit with Monika, some chores, a little cleanup, and a decent amount of exercise. The bad part is that I had significant pain after only a third of a mile on the treadmill, so all of the calories were burned on the bike.

The Future

Pain remains the factor that makes thinking about the future vague at best. My left knee does not seem to be progressing after the first three of Dr. Higgins’ injections. The piriformis is responding to Monika’s treatments with glacial speed. I get a new sciatica injection on Wednesday. Wednesday is entirely dedicated to medical stuff.
