Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statue

Daily Success January 24 – Okay. No scoring “Kentucky Windage” would move that, but controlling my whisky intake would (probably) have moved me up a notch.

Yesterday

Getting to Okay yesterday was actually hard. The day started with a quick trip to the phlebotomist for Dr. Friedman and Dr. Goldmark. Next confusion on the time (and therefore time waste) for a Zoom with the UTSA Capstone group. After that, physical therapy with Monika. Finally, there was the weekly SurveyorBot Zoom status meeting.

By the end of the day, parts hurt, I was spent, and Jan was feeling poorly from the continuing, and unexpected, aftermath of her procedure last week. All in all, a very difficult day.

Today

Today will be, I hope, a bit easier. Larry via a virtual meeting at noon, then Tony for the “final” switchover to my new computer at 3, Tony Time. He’s a great guy and we love him, but his clients have him in the car far too much and DC traffic …

But today began with a warning. My daily weigh-in showed another new high at 168 pounds. That’s more than I’ve weighed in at least a year and maybe several. I don’t know how long, but I do know that the trend MUST be arrested, then reversed. And the bike may not be enough at 40 minutes or so daily.

Especially if the bike has to deal with whisky calories.

The Future

I’ve taken the infinitesimally small step of putting Cliff’s Friday kaffeeklatsch on my calendar. I’ve also added scoring subtlety to the whiskey number so that it will push me toward success. Those things done, I need more.

Today includes Larry at noon, which is really about the future in a big way.
