Daily Success February 5 – Outstanding. Outstanding by a long, long way. Even the most conservative numbers, ignoring the double “Daily Success” posts due to not hitting “post” on the third, for example, don’t bring the score down near the line.
Yesterday
Yesterday was peaceful. I did very little on the Sam problem as Jan is now editing my draft. That left plenty of time for the gym. Which led to the Outstanding score.
Later in the evening, after my main chores were done, I spent a few minutes with Rosetta Stone starting to brush up on my Spanish for the Gathering. I started at the most basic lesson and plan (I originally typed “will”) to do at least one primary lesson each day, probably in the evening, so that I will be reasonably prepared if introduced to the folks from Spain. It’s a good motivator to get me at least a tiny bit out of my rut.
Today
Today is very flexible with Monika at 11 being my only item. I’ve cancelled the 1:30 with the UTSA contract group because of all the work I’m having to do getting an agreement in place for the intellectual property I created for SurveyorBot and SAGEbot. I’ve lost all faith in Sam’s sincere intent to reward me for my creativity and unpaid work. That loss of faith is now coloring everything.
The Future
Much of the future is tied to medical support and physical therapy. My left knee is still stiff and somewhat sore, so I visit Monika this afternoon and Friday for PT and laser treatments that help, but don’t seem to last. She’s also working on the piriformis and whatever it is with the outside of my left leg, especially the thigh. I visit Dr. Sheik on Wednesday for another injection near my spine to keep the sciatica at bay. If the left knee does not respond more completely and fairly soon, I’ll have to get a consultation with Dr. Higgins to get his opinion on more injections versus a titanium knee.
But the Gathering is in about 4 weeks, 4 weeks exactly if I’m picked of the hospitalero training waitlist. It is to be looked forward to and to be hoped for.
My biggest hope, at least at this point, is to be selected for Ribadiso. It would be great to do that, but from this distance, and knowing the limits of service allowed there, it appears to be a very, very small consolation prize for being able to return to the Camino as a pilgrim.
