Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statue

Daily Success March 24 – Beaten. I have long known that a rainy day would anger my left knee; yesterday’s rain, a generally light one that ended early enough, set my right shoulder back at least a week or ten days. The limits on motion, and especially the pain that went WAY up on the “how much does this hurt” scale simply beat me into submission.

Yesterday

Yesterday was dominated by shoulder pain, pain so limiting that I don’t even know if my left knee was affected in any way.

On the bright side, however, Shae Li and A arrived; Shae Li as A’s chauffeur from Ohio and only staying until today, A for a long Spring Break week’s visit that will include some college tours as well as general sightseeing.

Today

Today began with a very poor night’s sleep after overeating at Cinco de Mayo. One would think I would learn, but I don’t. Add to that the residual shoulder pain from the rain and I see a nap in my day’s plan today.

Mostly, however, the day will be about our two grandbabies, physical therapy, exercise, and Poli-Sci.

The Future

The future is a meeting between Allen and Tim Monday afternoon to effect the handoff from one to the other, then working with Tim and Jon to get my response to Sam under way. It’s making me smile to think of it.

Plus, of course, the decisions I’ve been putting off on hospitalero training and the Confraternity of Saint James. Why am I hesitating?
