Daily Success April 11 – Beaten. And that goes for every day since the 5th as spending time in Ohio to help my daughter through an emergency hospitalization took precedence over everything, beat me to a pulp, and will probably result in a hangover for a few days. It was a “tough day at the office,” as they say.
Yesterday
Yesterday was dedicated to spending time with Jennifer in the morning, then the drive home. I arrived here just simply spent.
Today
Today is that proverbial “first day of the rest of my life.” I’ve got to grab it and get on with making myself who I want to be. That may include finding a new image to replace that guy looking evenly at me from my desktop. He is the me I want to be: happy, assured; a pilgrim comfortable in his own skin. I managed to be him for a few years, but wear and team just might have reached the point where adaptations must be made.
That means decisions. I got an A on my Poli-Sci course and could have gotten it with a lot less grief had I understood the APA formatting thing. Do I want to continue with UMGC? If “yes,” what is the goal? The Camino? If “yes,” …
Today will include decisions on the Confraternity of Saint James and signing up for hospitalero training (which now turns out to be full, I didn’t bother with the waitlist). Yes or no. And then move on. Hospitalero training must wait at least until September in Iowa, a location that does not call to me.
The Future
The future is coming into focus a bit. The gauntlet is thrown as far as Sam is concerned; the next move is his or will be when Jon gets the provisional patent applications filed. My thinking there is that I can announce that step on LinkedIn to let those who are interested know that Sam is not as in control as he might think. The guys at SoftServe, for example.
Other future stuff should start to become more obvious soon as well. Can I get into the next hospitalero training class? When can I move forward with serious PT for my right arm (the six week limit arrives next week!)? And, of course, my back. I’m seeing Monika next week and I’m going to ask about a chiropractic visit or two.
