Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statue

Daily Success May 4 – Okay. The “Okay” benefited from taking injury points because of my back. It is true that the pain of May 2nd was gone, mas o menos, but caution was clearly called for. Fear is such a great motivator.

Yesterday

Yesterday started with the fun of Cliff’s thing at the Brewhouse – where the breakfast burrito not only sank my battleship, but it also lasted all day – and evolved cautiously through a pretty complete (I didn’t tell them when they missed a stretch or exercise) physical therapy session at Dr. Higgins’ office.

That said, the spirit may have been willing, but the flesh was not. A nap was called for before heading out to physical therapy but was 90% deferred due to schedule. It then demanded attention later in the day. Productivity was destroyed.

And it’s not clear that the spirit was all that enthused, either. My right shoulder began forecasting rain on the drive to Dr. Higgins’ office for physical therapy.

It was correct as rain began falling during the night. It is, however, a “super power” that I would prefer not to have.

Today

Today has only one thing on the schedule, an American Pilgrims Zoom at noon. Other than that, Spanish, PT, and exercise.

The Future

The future focuses on a week from today when Shae Li will walk across the stage to receive a master’s degree from Akron. It is the first master’s in the Gorin family for quite some time as the kids and most of the grandkids chose other paths.

Next week is mostly minor stuff, but my UMGC class does open up for student activity, not for actual learning, on the eighth. And never-ending physical therapy and chiropractic treatment, of course; the progress seems glacial, all the more so given the rapid (but still too slow) progress on my shoulder (unless it’s going to rain). Sob. Sob. Sob.

We still have to get our airline tickets for France and make plans for the time other than the cruise. I’m anxious to get that done. Plus, American Pilgrims will not open the registration for the September hospitalero training until June. Stand by.

And, of course, getting Tim’s thoughts on the final nastygram text for Sam and moving forward with that.

Never a dull moment! Often a dull Barney, but NEVER a dull moment.
