Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statue

Daily Success May 10 – Disappointing. That includes some Kentucky Windage for various injuries. It SHOULD have been better. It could have been worse.

Yesterday

Yesterday was another day with no energy and no willpower. Yes, things hurt. It’s tough to argue that rotator cuff surgery combined with reattaching my biceps muscle should not hurt at this point; it’s easy to argue that I’m getting off VERY much on the light side. It’s also tough to argue that a broken rib (even the kind with a cute fracture) is going to be pain free. Again, I’m very lucky.

But the spirit was weak and the flesh unwilling.

Today

Today we leave for Ohio and Shae Li’s graduation, then on to Michigan. Little will be practical between now and returning home next Wednesday.

The Future

The future includes having sent a “guns free” message to Tim to start the day.

Our small trip to Ohio and Michigan means that from now through next Thursday is going to be unscoreable. Time in Airbnbs, staying with friends, lots of family activities, and the general time lost to 20 or more hours staring out the windshield means that promises not a part of the Camino are being kept and the inapplicability of my Camino dream scoring system must be accepted. Plus, I’ve got my first week of Poli-Sci to deal with and that’s got a due date starting next week.

Then there is getting rolling for larger stuff including France. It will be interesting, if a tad unpredictable at the moment. It looks good to me, however.

Or it will as the rib and shoulder heal …
