Daily Success May 19 – Disappointing. I had a shot at Okay had the Internet Monster not had its way with me. It did and I didn’t.
Yesterday
Yesterday was a continuing struggle of my spirit demanding that my body cooperate. The results were mixed at best.
The vertigo was much less, but still present. Some kind of cardiac thing in which I was short of breath after getting up and climbing the stairs hit me two or three times; enough to generate clicks on the heart monitor. My shoulder was more painful than a few days ago with the loss of ibuprofen and yesterday’s arrival of some rain.
Importantly, I found myself unable to stay away from ndnation. That site is an important part of my life as it provides social contact, intellectual stimulation, and an incredibly valuable resource. It is important to me that my contribution to the site exceeds what it gives me and that is a tall order.
Finally, there was the UMGC Poli-Sci (GVPT 170) course. As one might expect, it is a bit different than the first one, but the similarities are clear and that gives me a huge leg up. My first postings were, hopefully, what the prof is looking for.
Today
Today is to be the day Jan and I sit at the computer and buy our tickets to France. That is activity number one.
Beyond the tickets, there is our weekly pancake and bacon breakfast (which will be an egg dish I will prepare this week as something a tad different), exercise, physical therapy, and Poli-Sci.
Now if my body will start to cooperate a bit more … but the vertigo has already made its presence known with a severe, if brief, event while organizing the kitchen this morning.
The Future
The future is extremely fuzzy. My shoulder is still a major, if lessening, problem (see reality of a six-month recovery period). My lack of walking ability is unchanged but hope springs eternal and all that with an appointment with Dr. Higgins for a third, or is it a fourth, opinion on how to remedy it.
Then there is the situation with Sam. Tim’s letter has gone out. We shall see from there.
