Daily Success June 15 – Mandatory Rest Day
Yesterday
Yesterday would have been two full weeks of well above average exercise performance. Lots of calories burned, lots of physical therapy, lots of core strength, lots of leg strength. I was pretty well exhausted; not as exhausted as after a long stretch on the Camino, but exhausted nonetheless. It was time for a day off.
Progress was made on Poli-Sci. The painters were here for the full day and made good progress there. I also got my new Pixel and started the setup and data transfer process. The old one overheated and data transfer failed. The setup is not going smoothly.
An important note: physical therapy for my piriformis syndrome with Monika led to real hope of real progress. I had walked a long way on Thursday, almost 8 kilometers (measured as 4.86 miles) and the piriformis difficulty had seemed to ease during the last few kilometers. That seemed odd. Monika did her pressing and massaging thing and the extreme sore spot that she can always hit like a pain seeking missile was much less tender. She did her evaluation of the back / hip / leg and said that she has never seen it so relaxed. Is this progress? If it is, is it real progress or just an artifact of the muscle relaxant that Elaina prescribed?
I run out of the muscle relaxant in a couple days, so that may tell the tale.
Today
Today is much the same as yesterday. Poli-Sci and the phone are the basics. On top of that, it’s time to get back on the exercise and physical therapy wagon. One day off is fine, two is a habit … a bad habit and one that can quickly become very hard to break.
There is also some work preparing for the painting. Taking hooks down and the like.
Walking. Definitely some walking.
The Future
The future continues to look bright. If the piriformis syndrome is finally easing a bit, that would be huge!
