Daily Success June 22 – Okay. And I’m surprised at that as yesterday did not seem all that productive.
Yesterday
Yesterday included a lot of me not being resolute on success. Part of that, a significant part of that, was legitimate distractions. Getting the PEPCO check in the mail despite not having the new check writing software really working yet. I’m close, but there is a lot of fiddling and lost time.
Poli-Sci got a lot of attention once again. The problem, if problem it be, is that I’m enjoying the course. Huh!
The painters were here and that took some time as they needed support (windows up and down), guidance (carpentry repairs), and extras like ice water. No biggie, but it did offer a chance to chat in Spanish with native speakers. I’m terrible, but we could communicate.
Exercise was ok for calorie burning, but physical therapy and strength were left behind.
Today
Today is going to be a scorcher. This is unfortunate as “outside work” is plentiful due to the carpentry and painting work. That said, there are plenty of indoor chores as well. And Poly-Sci, physical therapy, and exercise, of course. Walking outside is not in the cards, however.
The Future
The future would look a lot better if my piriformis syndrome, or whatever it actually is, would relent. It is just debilitating. A simple walk to Giant yesterday, 1.7 kilometers (1.1 miles) was a huge struggle. A half-mile on the treadmill, doubling up on physical therapy and calories, was very difficult. Eleven months ago, I was walking 16 to 24 kilometers (10 to 15 miles) a day. The future I want has me doing that again …
Beyond the piriformis, however, things are good. Jan’s family through her father’s marriage to his second wife will be visiting us this coming week and that should be a lot of fun. The trip to France will be here before we know it. An old friend, Joe, has suggested an introduction to some folks he has worked with as a possible path forward for monetizing my subsurface anomaly detection intellectual property.
