Daily Success July 5 – Beaten.
Yesterday
Yesterday was the tenth day in a row that defeated me. The causes included being behind on chores, feeling that a visit with Jennifer was an absolute necessity, various equipment failures including our air conditioning and my car, and the disruptions from the painters working on the house.
Today
Today must be a little better. It will still be dominated by all the above, save the trip to see Jennifer. But license plates must be returned—the Lexus is not economically repairable—and other chores await. How things can be so far behind is a mystery.
But a specific decision has been made: I will prioritize my shoulder rehab because, while it’s doing very well, only that will restore full use, my core strength because it seems like a good approach to my lower back pain and the troubles with the piriformis syndrome, and calorie burning because that will help keep my weight under control and my cardiovascular system in the best practical repair.
All other “stuff,” including leg strength and UMGC courses, will take a back seat to that effort at physical recovery.
The Future
The future is defined by plans—Europe in a month, hospitalero training in September—and questions: Should I replace the Lexus? Should I sign up for another UMGC course, given how much time they take and my other goals.
