Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statue

Daily Success July 8 – Failed. I don’t know why or how, just that the numbers say that.

Yesterday

Daily success yesterday was terrible because it was another low production day. It seemed as though every simple task was made difficult by some tiny issue. A hike to Lowes wasted more time as I searched for the right fasteners to put up light fixtures; mostly by looking in the wrong places. A hike to Giant for breakfast stuff was necessary because we were out of everything, or so it seemed. Household chores that, somehow, seemed like swimming through molasses.

We spent a lot of time going over plans for France, which was more important to Jan than it was to me. Truthfully, I view the eight or so days we are on our own there as a target rich environment that has few, if any, wrong answers. Just plunk me down in Paris and turn me loose. I’ll figure something out …

And the guy was here to fix the fixed refrigerator. It appears that the technicians pushed it too far back the last time they were here. That was what caused the interference with the door and drawers. It also tipped the fridge slightly forward so that the door did not close as Jan likes. Getting the fridge moved forward, however, was quite a trick that required partial disassembly to get a real grip on it!

The result was no real exercise, or no real exercise that will give me a good score.

Today

Daily success today must work around both a physical therapy appointment at Higgins’ office and a visit with Elaina about my back / leg. That will tie things up from 2:30 to 4:30, plus drive time, of course. Chores and another walk to Lowes appear to be in my future. Discipline is what is needed if I’m going to get a decent score.

I found my Microsoft Word file for my 2021 Journal! There are some typos in it, but fixing it and finishing the one for 2023 look far more feasible today as a result. My plan is both to use the journals as inputs for new My Camino Day posts and to post them “as is” once they are cleaned up. Probably this will be under the general Ruminations on … framework.

The Future

Daily success in the future is pretty much the same as it was yesterday. It is bright with vacation, hospitalero training, and opportunity. No time demands from Poli-Sci until, perhaps, the fall. Decisions to be made about SAGEbot work and looking for paying work post-September.
