Daily Success July 12 – Outstanding. Close, but clearly sufficient. I earned this one.
Yesterday
Daily success yesterday had a lot of exercise and physical therapy. My “Ruminations on … My Camino Journal 2021 post is near completion and should be posted today.
Dr. Sheikh gave me the piriformis injection. It was much less troublesome than the sciatica injections. Hopefully it will work as well. My walk to Nabila’s, a total of 1.53 miles, was not easy, but did give some reason to hope. Dr. Sheikh says the injection will take a few days before the effects are fully there.
Jan wanted to go out to dinner, so we went to The Grilled Oyster Company, a short walk from the house. Very pleasant evening? Check. Good wine, crisp, clean, and cold, Check. Excellent dinner? Check. The closest thing to a problem was that services was a bit slow and that led to a second bottle of wine. Good wine.
Today
Daily success today is really a matter of focus. There are no “gotta do” things on the list. Cliff’s kaffeeklatsch at what is now Empress Coffee and Cocktails this morning as the only “wanna do” item. That means time available for exercise, physical therapy, and senior pilgrimage.
The Future
Daily success in the future looks right good. Tim and I are to chat on Monday to chart a path forward with Sam. Tim’s general indication is that I’ll be turned loose to start putting professional pressure on him through some technical work, possibly some added provisional patent filings, outreach to friends and colleagues about contract and funding opportunities, and putting some professional publications together. All of that will add up to pressure on Sam from the folks working with him.
I’m also thinking about funding at least some kind of lawsuit, possibly to recover the money I was to have earned over this year and next. Not working is nice, but the money did figure into my financial comfort level.
But France is only three weeks away and hospitalero training is about two months. Add the hopeful situation with Dr. Sheikh’s latest injection, and daily success in the future looks promising, indeed.
