Daily Success July 14 – Very Good. And closer to the upper boundary than the lower one.
Yesterday
Daily success yesterday was mostly about getting a lot of exercise and physical therapy done. Plus, a lot of chores. With the time sink of Poli-Sci gone, it’s a lot easier to do the rest of the stuff. I really enjoyed the course and enjoyed putting in the time, however, so I’ll probably take another one in the fall; might even decide to add a Poly-Sci degree to my resume. But now it will have to wait until after Hospitalero Training in September.
Today
Daily success today must focus on the basics of exercise and physical therapy. The first post for 2021, getting to Zumaia, is on tap. It should not be a major post as there is not a ton to explain.
Importantly, it’s time to make my travel reservations to Hospitalero Training in Hiawatha, Iowa. My concern is timing as we have tight arrival and departure windows for Prairiewoods. That may mean a night in Iowa before or after the training. Or both. Ah, well. Next year at an albergue—San Martín on the Camino del Norte where they took me in as my last resort during the Miraz fiesta in 2023—if not on The Way itself.
Admittedly, San Martín is the Confraternity of Saint James rather than American Pilgrims, but I’m sure everyone will understand.
Chores and getting my book collection more under control will round out the day.
The Future
Daily success in the future continues to look bright. My back’s reaction to Dr. Sheikh’s injection seems hopeful but not successful yet. We shall see. I’m having lots of fun ideas for work to put some pressure on Sam, all of which will be both professionally satisfying and potentially real value added. Win-win.
Plus lots to do on the seniorpilgrimage.com website!
The big question is whether it will be worthwhile to look for a paying gig in October. Not getting the money from Sam for actually working is not a critical hitch in my gitalong, but it’s lost income nonetheless. Replaceable? Yes. Do I care enough? Maybe, maybe not.
