Daily Success July 18 – Mandatory Day Off.
Yesterday
Daily success yesterday was nonexistent, not for lack of effort but because of things that simply had to be done. One drive about the town delivered junk electronics to the county transfer station, the license plates for my now scrapped Lexus to the Motor Vehicle Authority so that the insurance can be dropped, and two boxes of books to the Second Story Books warehouse. Laundry and folding took real time.
Importantly, I just simply never had a chance to get started on exercise so shoulder physical therapy did not happen. My left knee spent a significant amount of time encased in the ice wrap it seemed to demand by being stiff and painful. That does appear to have reduced the swelling, so I am hopeful.
There was a significant amount of time put into the SAGEbot path forward, simply letting folks know that I’m moving forward on an exciting new activity that is tied to identifying, evaluating, and precisely locating Explosive Remnants of War. I scatter seeds where I can in the hope that some of the ground is fertile, or at least will lead to some ground that is fertile. A significant part of this is simply catching up with, and expanding, my list of contacts on LinkedIn.
Plus, I managed some minor advances on my book collection and on material that will go on seniorpilgrimage.com, hopefully very shortly.
Today
Daily success today will be a bit enhanced because my left knee is (a little) improved this morning. Sadly, it’s still well short of “right.” The first ice wrap of the day began almost immediately.
Daily success today should be easier than yesterday as some of the time lost—disposing of the obsolete electronics, for example—was unusual. The big question, however, remains. My left knee is far from certain to facilitate any exercise at all and calorie burning exercise in particular.
A test on the bike is in my very near future.
Two things will challenge Camino related productivity and, automatically, daily success. First is Nabila’s mail and how my knee will affect that Village chore. Second is a visit with Dr. Higgins for him to take a look at my back / pelvis / hip / leg problems. Dr. Sheikh’s injection does not appear to have made a great difference, so a second opinion seems really necessary.
The Future
Daily success in the future is as promising today as it was yesterday, and for all the same reasons.
