Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statue

Daily Success September 11 – Okay. Yesterday’s score was just barely enough.

Daily Success Yesterday

Daily success yesterday included hidden progress on Project Pinecone, just enough exercise to keep things going, a little Camino work, and just a tiny bit of whiskey control. Combined, those things got me across the Okay boundary.

Daily Success Today

Daily success today is going to be heavily exercise dependent as always. The invisible progress on Project Pinecone should transition to measurable progress today as the path from here to our goal is becoming ever clearer … and more intimidating.

We have Larry at 3PM this afternoon as a minor added challenge. My other challenges are tied to distractions from both hospitalero training plans and the Confraternity of Saint James newsletter. Discipline is my only hope, and that newsletter is a big one.

Daily Success in the Future

Daily success in the future is now dominated by two things: hospitalero training with my flight halfway to Cedar Rapids only 24 hours from now; and the new diagnosis for my back trouble, the SI Joint. Dr. Sheikh‘s latest injection seems to have calmed the pain but there is still something not right across my lower back as there is a dull discomfort that pretty much reaches side to side.

If the pain stays under control, will Dr. Levine feel surgery is appropriate?

Surgery. How many times have surgeons opened this poor 78-year-old body up? I don’t even remember all of them.
