Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statue

Daily Success September 28 – Disappointing.

Daily Success Yesterday

Daily success yesterday was probably less than “disappointing” as I achieved that lofty score only by doing the minimum necessary to avoid “failed” very late in the day because three in a row is too many. The simple truth was that my scoring system pushed me to do the minimum rather than accept another “failed” grade that would probably have been more appropriate to my performance.

That is what it’s supposed to do so it appears to have worked as intended.

Why such a bad performance? Simply chaos combined with exhaustion from another poor night’s sleep. My right shoulder was most of it, and probably because I’ve fallen behind on my rehab stretches and exercises. My left knee and lower back pitched in as they could. It’s hard to stick to the plan when the Fates choose to make it difficult with some very effective weapons.

Project Pinecone included some progress. Not enough, but some. I’m now out of the technical work in the interim project plan and into fundraising and schedule. Those are much harder.

Success Today

Success today is to make real progress on Project Pinecone. The Camino must now rest a bit as Priscilla’s decision on my offer to serve at Albergue San Martín will do much to determine my path forward.

Football this afternoon will provide the motivation for stretches and exercise.

Focus is the key. Focus on what is important.

Success in the Future

Success in the future remains unknowable, but very hopeful. Priscilla has not said “no.” The terrible pain that seemed untreatable appears to be in remission following the new SI Joint diagnosis that isolated its root cause, which “changes everything.” Project Pinecone is exhibiting tiny signs of hope.

Focus. I must focus.
