Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statue

Daily Success December 12 – Failed.

Daily Success Yesterday

Success yesterday was Failed, plain, pure, and simple. With zero in terms of excuses available. Causes, yes. Excuses, no.

The Zooms at 10 and 5 ended up being a single Zoom at about 5:45 that lasted only half the usual time. I was logged on and ready for both. And little time was lost for sitting at the computer waiting for someone to show is a good time for technical work and Project Pinecone reaped that benefit.

A big chunk of time was lost to a two-hour nap. There was little in the way of some other choice as my exhaustion from recent days was still in evidence. That led to failing to meet my promise to “get back to it” after dinner. By the time chores were done around 8:45, there was no spirit left to fight on.

Success Today

Success today includes the cleaning folks being here in preparation for the party on Saturday, but it is also total disruption. They do a good job, and they do it quickly. The problem is that one feels like a serious impediment to their progress and, for myself at least, tends to work hard at staying out of the way.

Focus, dedication, not accepting excuses such as “but this must also be done” or “not now.” Today CAN be a success. It is up to me to make it so.

And today is all the more important because Saturday is planned to be a day off. The party will be a total effort from rising from the bed to slipping back into it.

Success in the Future

Success in the future has taken a hit over the last few days with no attention to Spanish and inadequate effort on the exercise front. This was an expected hit because of the Holiday Season and especially our party for family and friends on Saturday. Sunday will probably be a day of recovering from the exhaustion of the party.

Future success will actually begin with a solid effort restarting on Monday. Between now and then, just do my best and use the hours wisely.
