Daily Success: December 26 – Yesterday (Christmas) was another (if expected) zero day for exercise. Today will be better as there are no celebrations of the Season going on and a football game tonight. How much better is unknown, but better seems inevitable. Especially with no bagels or avocados in the house. The 1.8 kilometer (1.1-mile) journey to Giant awaits.
As expected, my weight dropped back to the 75- / 74-kilogram range with a lot of water elimination between coming home from Bill and Paula’s Christmas dinner last evening and getting up this morning. Knowing it will come down is not the same as seeing it actually happen and I’m really glad for the latter.
Today will (he types hopefully) include several specific steps toward success in 2023: an appointment for an MRI to inform the next round of spinal injections; an appointment for new glasses; and the beginning of a day-by-day plan for the hike from Cadavedo to the Basilica. That plan, in turn, will be the foundation for vacation planning for Jan, Julian, and Mercedes as they say they want to hike the last 500-meters with me.
[Secret note: if successful, this plan means Finisterre as a short hike from the Basilica in 2024. But who’s worried about that at this point?]
My Christmas gift to me, a very limited return to ndnation, was a very small step after seven full weeks of exactly no visits. I looked at the Back Room exactly twice yesterday and once so far today. No Political Board for now.
