Daily Success November 24 – “Failed.” I could try to sugarcoat that, all afternoon on Thanksgiving with friends and cooking in the morning to have some things to take with us. Add to that feeling steadily worse with a developing cold, and there are plenty of excuses.

But the truth is that I simply didn’t care enough to try, not even try. That’s failure.

All in all, it was a lovely Thanksgiving. Bill and Paula are great hosts, much loved friends. So much so that I did a COVID test in the AM and let them know about the cold and “nope, not COVID” status before we went to visit them. They said “ya’ll come now, hear!” and so a lovely time was had. Good friends, good wine, good food, good conversation, and oh, so much to be thankful for.

Today

Today will be a challenge because the cold is in full control. Add to that extreme back tightness and things do not bode well. I will, however, either “do or not do; there is no try.”

Based on that, the verdict on yesterday is clearly correct. I made no attempt to “do,” just accepted defeat.

Today must include some exercise and finishing my stretches. It should include both some YouTube work and book collection effort. We shall see how much dedication to my goals in life I really have.

The Future

I must resolve the hospitalero training issue. If I don’t hear back from American Pilgrims, I’ll probably just sign up and dare them to declare that none of the half dozen or so albergues I’ve stayed in that clearly meet their criteria are allowable. Cadavedo. Ernesto’s place.
