Daily Success April 18 – Okay. It could have been a higher score with the greatest of easy, but my motivation level simply could not get there.
Yesterday
Yesterday was another slow day. Exercise, physical therapy, a visit with Elaina for my second post-op visit / evaluation, and so on. I took some time late in the day to look at some finance information that I should have been tracking more carefully and found that some of my investments have done a bit better than expected. I also checked in on a Forward Party monthly virtual conference for about a half-hour.
Because of the financial work and political things, I slipped up on getting to a higher score and on doing my Spanish studies. My bad, but for good reasons.
Today
Today is the eighteenth of April! Two hundred forty nine years ago, Paul Revere William Dawes, and others rode across the Massachusetts countryside spreading the alarm that British soldiers were marching to Concord and Lexington to confiscate arms the colonists had stored there. The next morning, the first shot of what would become the Revolutionary War was fired by a person who was never identified.
My much simpler day includes another visit with Dr. Swistak at 10:45 plus dinner with Bill and Paula at Cinco de Mayo. And Nabila’s mail, of course. Plus exercise, physical therapy, and Spanish.
The Future
The future continues to have reasons for optimism, planning a vacation in France is a good one, and worry, my daughter’s health is a real one. But a lot of the future depends on me doing my physical therapy, success with Dr. Swistak and Monika, and focusing on my Spanish studies in a way sufficient to get my skills up to the level needed for an hospitalero.
Then, too, we are awaiting a response from Sam. That total’s out more than enough to interfere with my sleep at night.
