Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statue

Daily Success April 21 – Failed. This was simply me letting myself down through a variety of unforced errors combined with fatigue.

Yesterday

Yesterday was another day built on a poor night’s sleep. My shoulder seems willing most of the day most days and even cooperative a lot of them. At night, however, it demands attention frequently; position change that my help, another, another. Add to that the dry mouth that generally wakes me at around 5 AM, and fatigue sets in.

Topping the fatigue was a plan made the day before to join my wife on a visit with our friend, Amy, who lives in Annapolis. Jan’s focus for the trip was to show Amy some things about gardening. It was to be a short trip. Short is a relative term, however, and the trip consumed the afternoon.

Finally, there was a decision to get take-out food from Brews and Barrels, a local restaurant that we really like. I walked over and treated myself to a Makers Mark while waiting for the food. Exhaustion had long since arrived before my arrival home with the food and there was nothing more for me to give. Bed came VERY early.

Exercise, physical therapy, reading my 2023 journal into Microsoft Word, and anything else planned for the day simply evaporated like dew on a bright, sunny morning.

Today

Today must be better than yesterday. It will begin with our Sunday brunch of pancakes and bacon.

There is little in the way of “must-do”s, so the plans for exercise, physical therapy, and my journal are moved to today. The fatigue from another poor night’s sleep has returned, however.

The Future

The future continues to look positive, albeit pretty much the same as recent days.

The big item will be our “council of war” for how to handle Sam on Tuesday or Wednesday. Combine that will getting rolling on planning our vacation to France in August and there is plenty to be positive about.
