Daily Success April 28 scored Outstanding because of a lot of walking distance and good progress by finishing FAQ-3 on my Camino website, progress that I screwed up somehow by not hitting the right button and didn’t get my FAQ-3 answer visible until I just went to get the link! I have to be more careful about that.
The Internet time-suck monster caught me, not badly, but enough to deny me credit for avoiding it, and that could have cost me my Outstanding.
Things that helped get me over the bar included buying trip insurance for July and August, a very important step. Now, the truth is that this trip will not cost a fortune, but the rest of that truth is that I’m 77 and have a bunch of health issues. I don’t expect to have a problem in Spain and, if I do, I don’t expect it to be serious. That said, knowing that I’ve got a lot of money available to bring me home on an emergency basis contributes a LOT to my sense of comfort.
The great score on walking included 7.4 km (4.6 miles) that combined wearing a 6 kilogram (14 pound) backpack and some slightly more challenging terrain as I did a mile or two on the Muddy Branch Trail. It was almost pain free as Dr. Higgins’ and Dr. Sheikh’s shots really seemed to work. I wasn’t even tempted to take a big ibuprofen last night despite that fact that I woke up to rain today.
It’s supposed to rain all day today. I see the treadmill in my future.
