Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statueDaily Success April 30 scored Outstanding with the new system. Even a rigorous limit, not counting lots of stuff that could count, got it to the Outstanding minimum. Hiking distance was a key to that even without some kind of credit for 5.6 km (3.5 miles) of “more strenuous” hiking with both hills and the backpack.

Icing on the walking cake was that I completed my latest “virtual Camino,” that is hiking 880 km (550 miles) yesterday as well. It took 201 days. That sounds better than it is because five of the nine virtual Caminos in the Excel workbook were done in less time and one was only 124 days. But it still feels really good!

Today is shaping up to look much like the 28th because it is going to rain all day. Treadmill.

My “other work” on the Camino includes more real progress on both My Camino Day for August 4th, 2021, some additional FAQ effort, and a plan for structuring my Ruminations on Exercise for the website, although little of that shows and none of it was included in my scoring for yesterday.

Plus, I’ve been getting back, ever so slightly, to my oh-so-limited Spanish skills. ¡Los verbos! Rosetta Stone and Wondrium have been key to those efforts. The courses I’ve taken at University of Maryland Global Campus have helped, but they move so fast that my retention is, uh, not the best.
