Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statue

Daily Success April 30 – Failed. There was just no strength to keep my promise to myself. Yesterday was “Beaten.” My shoulder / arm had destroyed my sleep the night before and continuing pain completely disrupted my day yesterday.

Yesterday

Yesterday included a full physical therapy session at Dr. Higgins’ office and zip beyond that. The causes abounded, with a complete meltdown by Jan’s son followed by the predictable collateral damage as the coup de gras. My total failure in keeping my promise to myself was not due to that, however, it was weakness on my part combined with feeling exhausted and shoulder pain.

Recommendation from the therapist at Higgins’ office: less time at the computer, less time looking at the mobile device. Good advice that I must work hard to implement.

Today

Today must include a better effort on my part. It will have to be accomplished in the morning, however, as this afternoon is full. I’m substituting for Janet on Nabila’s mail as a Village volunteer and we’re having friends over for dinner and I’m cooking. A bit of shopping is needed as well. A perfect storm for keeping this morning busy.

The Future

The future continues to unfold. Jon revised my draft letter a bit, and a bit less than I expected. Now it is up to Tim. I’m not sure whether he plans to continue to use Allen as a front or step forward at this point. In any event, we seem to have a course clearly in mind.

Planning for France will have to wait until tomorrow at the earliest. And tomorrow, UMGC will be open for Golden folks like me to register.
