Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statue

Daily Success December 11 – Okay.

Daily Success Yesterday

Success yesterday scored better than expected, much better to tell the truth. And I’m not sure exactly why. Part of it is a less draconian approach to counting only above a threshold. Part was getting two Daily Success posts instead of one, albeit because of my screwup on Monday.

But the truth is that I simply fell apart late in the day. Exhaustion was part of it. Feeling kinda-sorta like a cold was in the process of arriving was part of it. Bedtime turned out to be immediately after dinner with all chores more or less ignored.

And despite that, there was enough exercise to carry its share because of walks to the dentist and to Giant. And some Project Pinecone did get done.

Success Today

Success today has to begin with the idea that “some” is not “enough.” ‘Tis true that one cannot simply push, push, push without limit, but it’s important for me to get back in the “push” and “focus” mindset this morning. No excuses.

Project Pinecone has the technical Zoom at 10. There is an appointment with Larry at 5, albeit via Zoom. The A59 Christmas party will have to go on without me, no real surprise as it would be a four-hour effort to find out that almost none of my friends are working in A59 anymore. Life moves on.

Success in the Future

Success in the future will be a challenge for the next three weeks as our party is on Saturday with 25 or 30 people expected over a 10-hour period. Then there will be the process of getting the cards, Christmas letters, and gift checks done and mailed. Then Christmas. Ah. Christmas. Then the New Year and that celebration. And football, with Notre Dame in the playoffs starting on December 20, just nine days from today.

Challenge. We will get some things done because there will be time, and we WILL be focused. We do not do this because it is easy, we do it because it is important, and we accept the fact that it will be very hard, very hard indeed.
