Daily Success December 16 – last day off duty.
Daily Success Yesterday
Success yesterday was extremely limited. I did manage a little exercise and a Daily Success post, but chores took some time, and exhaustion sorely limited my activities. Nothing like staying up late, sleeping poorly, and getting up early to make one full of “got up and went” for energy.
Success Today
Success today is going to be a bit of a challenge as the morning will be dedicated to a neighborly good deed taking my friend Joel for a procedure. There is still a lot of cleanup and put away and general rehab to get the house back to normal. And regular chores. Those, combined with still being tired, do not bode well for daily success.
The good news is that tonight is Monday Night Football, so that will provide a carrot for being in the gym. We shall see.
Success in the Future
Success in the future returns its focus to San Martín. The hospitalero training specific to San Martín is in London on February 21st. While it might be done on Zoom, that is not the way to bet. My partner in service, Piers, says he’s done this twice before and will attend so my presence should not be needed. Priscilla seems to feel the same way.
My own opinion is that I should be there but it’s really difficult. Even a minimalist attendance would require a long flight each way, two nights in London, and a total cost that would probably run close to $2,000. A civilized version that provides time to overcome the jet lag would take at least a week and cost a bit more. If it’s made a minivacation, well, more money and time. The money is not really a problem. The time is.
Decisions. And decisions about how to travel to Miraz when the time comes. Parts of the Camino beckon …
