Daily Success December 9 – Okay.
Daily Success Yesterday
Success yesterday was as vanilla as it gets. Modest time on the bike combined with a really solid set of arm / shoulder exercises / rehab work while watching a football game in which I did not really care about the outcome. There was time for a few chores and an early quitting time for dinner and a bit of relaxation.
One major time sink was writing the first draft of my Christmas letter. That is important to me, probably more important to me than it is to those who read it, and something I do every year describing the twelve months just passed. It helps me get in the mood for the Christmas / New Year holidays. And it always reminds me of how very much I have to be thankful for.
Two things, however, got no attention: Spanish and Project Pinecone.
Success Today
Success today requires a more energetic effort on my part. While yesterday was Okay and vanilla today really must be better. Most of the chores are finished and the letter draft is complete. Now for printing, addressing envelopes, writing short notes, and putting cards in the mail.
Project Pinecone must get its full share of attention. Relaxing for the evening must wait until a bit later. Discipline.
Success in the Future
Success in the future depends only on me. Project Pinecone has made astounding strides that require aggressive follow-up. Should I have to leave for San Martín today, it would be okay as my Spanish is weak but passable and my leg and shoulder strength are ok.
Wishin’ and hopin’ won’t get the job done. Workin’ and focusin’ are what is needed. That’s up to me.
