Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statue

Daily Success February 12 – Okay. And just barely Okay, skin of the score’s teeth Okay. But I’ll take it.

Yesterday

Yesterday was dominated, not by Sam and his ongoing obstruction, but by the Superbowl. Bill and Paula invited us over for the game and a pre-game nosh session. It was a wonderful half-dozen hours as we chatted, ate, drank, and watched a game that lived up to the hype. As predicted, the camera went to the Chiefs’ owners box more than might be expected, only to find Taylor Swift there showing a lot of enthusiasm and emotion for what was happening on the field. I’m out of touch with reality, but for the life of me, I can’t see why anyone objects to that.

I did get some Poly-Sci effort in yesterday, but no Spanish. Things are going to be very, very busy for the next eight weeks, assuming that someone says something like “You’ve got a lot to lose and nothing to gain by fighting about this.” That would mean that I’d have a lot of SurveyorBot work to catch up on as well as the Spanish and Poly-Sci. Plus exercise, of course. And the Gathering …

Today

Today got off to a very slow start. They don’t call it “Superbowl Monday” for nothing.

No SurveyorBot of SAGEbot to worry about pending something from Sam. I’ve emailed Monika my schedule (my bad for letting that slide to today) to set up PT and laser appointments. Most of the schedule will be exercise, Poly-Sci, and Spanish. I like it.

The Future

The Gathering is rapidly approaching! I’m now signed up for the notification system for those of us in the “kinda like an albergue” dorm rather than private rooms. I really, really hope it’s like a real albergue, but I know that a typical hostel is about as good as I can hope for. Places like the Monastery are simply special and not going to be duplicated at a for-profit conference facility in Texas. Dorm, yes. An albergue of the type I’ve grown to love so deeply? No.
