Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statue

Daily Success February 16 – Failed.

Daily Success Yesterday

Success yesterday seemed well within my grasp in the morning but by early evening it was clear that my efforts had been inadequate even to qualify for Disappointing. Much of this was a lack of focus. Some was a lack of energy. The reality was that little was accomplished.

That is all on me.

Success Today

Success today is easy to understand: focus; work on what needs be done; ignore distractions; keep at it even when a little tired; and accept the fact that the left knee is not going to get better and deal with it. And don’t take a nap if it’s an optional one, get on the stationary bike, instead.

Success in the Future

Success in the future remains more or less constant: Spain; Albergue San Martín; and Mae Ling await in the near future. The not so near future is about moving Project Pinecone forward. That’s hard, but hard is what we do.

More or less? Well, yes. Tomorrow will be lost to productivity because we will spend the time from noon to 2PM in downtown Washington attending what I hope will be a major protest. While I’ve joined in on things here in Kentlands a couple times, this is the first time I’ve done something like this. My guess is that it is only the first of many times in the future as we work to preserve obedience to the law and governance in accordance with the Constitution.

Inspiring folks middle-aged and older to undertake the Camino they dream of would seem like enough of a mission. Making the world a little safer by dealing with Explosive Remnants of War, which is the whole point of Project Pinecone would seem like enough of a mission. Joining my fellow citizens in working to preserve our constitutional form of government would seem like enough of a mission.

Three huge missions. One “beyond middle age” (i.e., in his 80th year) fellow.

No wonder it seems hard.
