Daily Success February 17 – Outstanding. It’s only Outstanding because I gave myself a few injury points. My right arm is not a huge problem, but it’s not willing to participate in much of anything that would be “upper body strength exercise.” I tried a couple things using the usual weight. No way. A few of them, I tried backing off to less and less. One of my stretches that normally includes an eight-pound weight worked ok with no weight at all, but that was about it.
Yesterday
Yesterday was totally quiet on the Sam front. I sent an email to Rey a few days ago stating plainly that the Interim Report must not include either my or GoVentures’ proprietary material. I asked for a “yes, I’ve read this” response, but nothing. A directory has been set up on ShareFile for a SAGEbot contract. Straws in the wind that portend a bad outcome.
I attended Cliff’s kaffeeklatsch at the Brew House again. It’s a nice hour of adult conversation. I also had an appointment with Monika. She is very positive about my progress. I do see it, but it is so SLOW! Aging bodies do not heal quickly. And Monika argues that damage done over years or decades, such as my unhappy piriformis and related SI joint issues, take time to correct.
Other than those things, it was a good day for exercise, Spanish, and Poli-Sci.
Today
Exercise, Spanish, and Poli-Sci are the plan. All inside. The world outside is covered with snow. My non-aggression pact with snow is that it stays out there, I stay in here.
A quiet day.
The Future
My guess is that Sam is simply going to ignore my repeated efforts to get paid for my proprietary data and move on in the belief that he can get away with it. Monday, we will show the hammer. Within a day or three, we will bring it down on him, hard, with notices to all the other people on both jobs as well as NASA and DARPA that he does not have data rights and that any material he has shared with them is encumbered; that they do not have the right to use any of it.
A lot of people will be upset. It will very possibly cost Sam two contracts and, possibly, much more. Too bad, so sad as my kids used to say. I’m done wasting energy on him. All that I’ve done is simply a sunk cost. There is no sense throwing good time and energy and money at recovering it if he is not willing to operate in good faith. I have a year’s worth of experience that says he’s not. And not likely to change.
All this will also affect my plans for San Antonio and the Gathering. I had been planning to visit all the people involved – UTSA, Joe – outside of XArc / Astroport, but that probably will not be a good idea. Ah, well. So it goes.
