Daily Success February 17 – Outstanding.
Daily Success Yesterday
Success yesterday was a surprise. I went back to the gym to pick up the few points needed to reach Very Good and did a bit more just to provide some margin. The bit more, or a miscount on my part before the gym, put me all the way to Outstanding.
That feels really good, especially because it was across the board. I had energy all day, got good exercise, made good progress on Project Pinecone, even finished up the Spanish lesson that had pushed me to bed the day before and did another whole lesson on top of it.
Success Today
Success today, at least in the Camino and Project Pinecone sense, seems unlikely to be anything close to acceptable, but for a very good reason. We are participating in the Presidents’ Day protest at the Capitol Reflecting Pool. This is not an option from my view, it is a civic duty at this point. While some of what is happening is overdue, the meat ax approach, disregard for congressional direction, and naked politicization of the Justice Department are flat wrong.
The rule of law must be followed if we are to remain a nation of laws. Our Constitution must be protected. Any portion of that fabulous document — why would the 2nd Amendment be more sacred than the 14th or the 22nd? — is as nothing if we start ignoring other sections that we don’t like.
Hopefully, we will get home in time for my Zoom with Larry at 4PM.
There will be little time or energy left for everything else.
Success in the Future
Success in the future won’t get much easier when my daughter and her family arrive for a three-day visit on Wednesday. It will be WONDERFUL to see them all and their visit will fill a void in a lot of hearts, starting with my own. But not much else will get done. We can get back to business Saturday when they depart.
Beyond all that, there is nothing to report about the future other than what was posted yesterday.
