Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statue

Daily Success January 14 – Disappointing. My score is right at the border of “Failed” and “Disappointing” with a lot of caveats, injury first among them. If I don’t give myself a “Disappointing,” the truth would be “Beaten.” I’m coming to hate Sam, SurveyorBot, and SAGEbot because of the work I must do to reinforce my simple request for a reasonable share of future success.

Yesterday

Yesterday was dominated by the “how long do I expect to keep getting money” paper for Sam and Vince (Sam’s lawyer). It’s a very complex question and will continue to take a lot of time today and (probably) tomorrow.

My exercise plans fell apart. Part of that was poor planning on my part, part was what the Fates decreed.

On my part, I had suggested that I cook dinner on Friday by preparing a new (to me) pasta dish. We went out, instead, so I repeated the suggestion yesterday and ended up making it. It sounded quick and easy enough in the newspaper writeup, BUT it required a trip to Giant and a modest amount of attention so that time that I had allocated to exercise was used for other things.

The good news is that the Baked Feta Pasta was excellent, even though I was a bit to liberal with the pepper.

The Fates decided that simply cooking dinner would lead to enough knee pain (with a little sciatica mixed in) to break my (weakened by wine with dinner) spirit.

Today

Today will be more of the same with a better football schedule (the Chiefs-Dolphins game was only on Peacock and I’m not going to sign up for Peacock to see one football game). I have hopes for a passing score.

Exercise hopes notwithstanding, there is the paper for Sam and Vince that will take time away from doing anything productive on SurveyorBot, SAGEbot, or working toward success.

The key, I’m coming to understand, is the discussed but never addressed sales projection for each of the areas.

The Future

This week is already a [expletive deleted] mess. There are six firm Zooms / appointments, two social things, and Friday from late morning on will be dedicated to taking Jan to her procedure, waiting for it to be finished, and bringing her home. Then I’ll take care of all the household stuff as she’ll be out of it until Saturday.

[expletive deleted]

Beyond the challenges of this week, there is the yawning chasm of my left knee. I doubt that the laser will be sufficient. If it’s not, a consultation with Dr. Higgins looking for options other than knee replacement. And getting the name of the guy who did his.

And, of course, there is the Zoom with Larry on Tuesday. I have to be open about how I see some things so that we can discuss the issue of the time allotted to me as well as that allotted to Jan.
