Daily Success January 16 – Okay.
Daily Success Yesterday
Success yesterday was a solid effort across the board. Exercise was okay, stretches so-so, Spanish enough, and Project Pinecone real progress. Admittedly, the step from “Disappointing” to “Okay” was accomplished because my spreadsheet showed me what had to be done for the better score and ego came to my rescue.
The system works …
My appointment with Dr. Swistak, another step along the way of getting “pain free” in my lower back, contributed about 1.6 kilometers (1 mile) of exercise, so the time counted against my exercise score. Not bad, and a laser / manipulation / electrostimulation session that left my back in a better mood than usual this morning. Hope springs, and all that.
Success Today
Success today, while never assured, is likely to include a lot of walking as Nabila’s mail (my weekly Village good deed) and a grocery store trip are on the agenda. Combined, that will be over five kilometers (three miles) walking. There are no doctor’s appointments or social events to take time away from the tasks on my list.
Success in the Future
Success in the future is looking bright, if worrisome. Some significant legal spending is on the horizon with decisions needed on patent applications. Tim is working to get me an estimate.
The technical work on Project Pinecone is going well, if far slower than desired. A great technical Zoom yesterday resulted in some very specific topic ideas to pitch to various agencies, all of which would stand a fair chance of finding an interested technical person. The path forward can be seen and Lise is the lead to follow it. She’s probably one of the best people around for this and luring her onto the team was huge.
San Martín beckons. The plan for that three week period is coming together now that tickets are purchased. Staying with Julian and Mercedes means seeing friends, which is wonderful, but it’s also a huge convenience as they will be able to help me with the shopping that I’m planning to do before reporting to the albergue. Win-win-win-win.
Now, if we can just get a conversation going on one or more of our SBIR / STTR topics and my back will cooperate …
