Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statue

Daily Success January 18 – Very Good.

Daily Success Yesterday

Success yesterday included two quite intentional late efforts with only an improvement in my score from “Okay” to “Very Good” as the motivator. “Very Good” was only five points away when I looked at my score and, after finishing my chores, I got back to exercise. That included a half dozen more of the exercises aimed at upper body strength and rehab for my surgically repaired right shoulder and a stretch or two. I was also motivated to take careful control of the demon whisky.

Again, the system worked.

My score was handicapped by Cliff’s kaffeeklatsch at the Empress in the morning, which I much enjoyed, then by a need for a nap that took an hour out of the afternoon. Pushing through it was possible, and hitting the bike for a bit to get past the mental tiredness would have been a better idea, but my productivity on Project Pinecone was very poor and fatigue was the problem and I chose the path of least resistance.

My Rosetta Stone Spanish practice went very well. Could things be starting to gel in my aging brain? It would be very nice, indeed.

Success Today

Success today should be straightforward as there is plenty of football on TV, so exercise will be a focus. The bad part is that the Commanders are the 8PM game, which is far from optimal for exercise. Ah, well.

Project Pinecone and chores will round out my day. Always lots to do. Too much, really. The workload I’ve set for myself is challenging indeed.

Success in the Future

Success in the future hasn’t changed. Things are bright with real ideas on moving Project Pinecone forward with some contract work within the necessary timeframe. That needs a lot of effort. In addition, my Spanish seems to be strengthening; that will really help at San Martín.

Focus. Focus on what’s important.
