Daily Success January 29 – Very Good. Could creative accounting (giving myself credit for clicking “Publish” on my Daily Success January 28 post a day late), or just a little more effort, have moved it up to Outstanding? Either one by itself would have been an extreme score. Both stretched just a tiny bit …
But Very Good it is. That’s what I really earned.
Yesterday
Yesterday continued to be dominated by the folderol with Sam. The result was the beginning of some very hard-nosed discussions. These will not be negotiations; he has abused my efforts to reach a reasonable agreement and especially my patience. That is over. We are now into the stage of beginning to demonstrate just how much he has to lose if he continues to refuse to pay me for value delivered.
I’ll give him, probably, through today to come to his senses before the next step. Or, maybe, through tomorrow. My patience is at an end, however, and this will be finalized one way or the other sometime in the next week or so.
Other than that time suck, the day was ok. It included a good, not great, amount of exercise and a wonderful visit with my cousin Pat to Celebrate her birthday.
I did get an improved version of my health tracking Excel workbook uploaded for people to use.
Today
Today’s biggest challenge will be to contain my fury with Sam’s approach to our business relationship and give things time to work. I’ve already sent emails to Kārl, Cody, Benjamin, and Fernando cancelling the two technical Zoom chats for today. I sent copies to Rey as I informed him yesterday that this was coming and I want him to know that, pending some kind of resolution of the business issues with Sam, my SurveyorBot work is all on hold.
That means plenty of time for the gym and for Camino “stuff,” including finishing my next “My Camino Day” post. The PowerPoint is ready and all that is needed is for me to record the description of what folks are seeing in the pictures.
The Future
The knee teases me. It is ever so slightly better today. Will Monika’s work get it completely calmed down? Will her laser and PT for my piriformis end that problem? It, too, seems to be responding ever so slowly. But responding.
Of course, the big question is how Sam decides to proceed. I’m sure he wants to play hardball and refuse. I’m also sure that he has a lot to lose that way and that there are people who will tell him that. I don’t know if the problem is ego, greed, ignorance, or something else. Probably a combination of all three. Will that be enough motivation for him to throw it all away?
We will see.
