Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statue

Daily Success January 3 – Very Good. A little creative accounting and no whisky would have gotten me to the fingernail edge of Outstanding, but neither happened. “Very Good” is the honest score. Given that I’ve been limiting my leg strength exercises because of the knee, perhaps the accounting would have been a bit less creative than it might seem as I could have claimed “Injury” points.

Yesterday

Yesterday was paced by my exercise. I did visit Dr. Kelly for my annual wellness check, which went well, and he prescribed a few more of the 800-milligram ibuprofen tablets. I use them only when really needed and still have a few in stock from a prescription a couple years ago, so this should last me until next year’s wellness check.

Kelly is kind of inspirational. He’s 89 and still practicing medicine. Why? Because he won’t give up. I must not give up.

SurveyorBot got modest attention, mostly in the form of reaching out to a lot of folks to let them know we need to start up again after the Holiday Season. It will take a bit, but the first fruits are apparent with a Zoom planned with Kārl for Thursday afternoon.

Today

Today will be dominated by doctors. Higgins, Sheikh, Monika, and Larry in that order. Exercise will have to wait until evening.

The Future

No future projections will mean much of anything until Jan and I work things out one way or another. I am at a loss. Hopefully Larry can help. Message from Kelly: I must not give up!

Beyond that, my health remains the issue that will determine the future’s general course. Today won’t be the answer to that, but a lot will be known in a few days (sciatica) or a couple weeks (knee). The piriformis seems less and less but isn’t gone.

Saturday, I head for South Dakota and another four-day disruption of my entire routine. Lovely. I could not forgive myself if I didn’t show up for John, however, so the disruption will be what it will be. Maybe a 4-day break will ease things a bit with Jan.
