Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statue

Daily Success January 31 – Outstanding.

Daily Success Yesterday

Success yesterday was all about time on the stationary bike. I was constantly feeling cold and going to the bike “for a few minutes” to warm up. The walk to do Nabila’s mail followed, almost, my “maximum distance” route for the first time in a couple weeks as well. Most of the snow and ice is gone. Importantly, my start was relatively early and so it was still daylight for most of it as well.

Project Pinecone got its share. Spanish, too. What was missing was other exercise and stretches. That was due to what is now becoming a recurring afternoon nap. The change in my energy pills does not appear to be working well.

Success Today

Success today must work around Cliff’s kaffeeklatsch at the Empress. Not sure if it’s worth attending, but my need to get out of the house is very clear. Ditto for getting a few minutes away from Project Pinecone. My time spent is up with productivity down. Some refresh is needed.

Success in the Future

Success in the future requires keeping myself productive and reasonably focused. Project Pinecone is a huge undertaking, one that it is clear needs a lot more than one fellow, and especially more than one fellow in the process of completing his 80th year.

On an important note, Mae Ling has suggested meeting up in Barcelona at the end of my service at San Martín. That would be OUTSTANDING, but will need some rearrangements in the overall plan. Pat’s party on Easter is one factor as it’s important for me to get there. The change in costs and other plans is non-trivial as well. Missing out on seeing Julian and Mercedes, an additional $400 for airfare, several night’s lodging, that kind of thing. On the other hand, it might offer an opportunity to see Salvadore and Tonia. Give and take.
We shall see.
