Daily Success March 17 – Outstanding. And it was not close. I kept getting cold yesterday and that meant going to the bike to warm up. Over and over and over again.
Yesterday
Yesterday was quiet. Lots of exercise and physical therapy; I can do the arm PT and walk on the treadmill at the same time. I got to over 2.6 kilometers (1.6 miles) on the treadmill and pretty much all of my arm PT while listening to Kristofferson at a concert in San Sebastian Spain (2010, he was younger then) on YouTube.

Today
Today is more of the same. Exercise, PT, Poli-Sci for starters; some Camino YouTube effort to get back to that. Perhaps some Spanish. I must get my retired act in gear or look for work.
I am wearing a sweater for the first time since the surgery. Getting it on was easy enough as the arm is far more useable than I’ve been led to expect.
The Future
The future still looks hopeful. My right arm is much, much better than I could have hoped at this point. The meeting Tim is convening late this week is indicative of a likely move forward that will put Sam in need of some antacid pills. Getting over 2.6 kilometers (1.67 miles) on the treadmill before notable discomfort set in yesterday was beyond encouraging.
All that butterflies and buttercups thinking notwithstanding, I’ve got a long way to go before my body is ready for a month of 20-kilometer days and a 7-kilogram backpack. A long way, yes, but for the first time in months, it sounds credible.
Now all I have to do is earn it.
